The first time I met Bingo and travelled to Middlesbrough was about 1996.Olly Todd had told me about the spots and the skaters and after watching his part in Bod's epic skate films Joy Bus I had to check it out. Upon arrival we met the friendliest skaters, real northern warmth. There was Singh who could nollie flip bollards, man that flip is etched into my mind. One of these skaters was Bingo his humour and relaxed attitude so welcoming, instantly I felt at ease. After spending some time and cash in his shop we went for a skate. It was good, so good I even applied to go to university there to study some obscure electronics course convinced of the great skate scene. I went home with some new shoes and the happy thought that skateboarders and skateboarding were so united and friendly. This has stuck with me since. It seems that over the years many things have changed but your love for the scene hadn't.On the occasions our paths crossed I was proud to be a skater and a part of something that you were too, so with sadness its goodbye but it's the memories that will always live on. God speed Bingo.
